This TED Talk features Zak Ebrahim, who was only 7 years old when his father helped to plan the 1933 World Trade Center bombing. His story is shocking, powerful, and inspiring as it proves that you can always choose peace. This TED Lecture relates to Carmen Bin Ladin's novel, Inside The Kingdom, as they are both stories about people related to terrorists. Both Zak and Carmen escaped these lives and chose paths of peace, freedom and choice. Both Zak and Carmen were in families who planned 9/11, and held their beliefs to an extreme importance. They both use all their power to fight against the bigotry and the senseless actions of terrorism. The overall theme which both stories take, is that children, whether son or daughter, do not need to take the same path as their fathers. Carmen made sure her daughters did not have to, and Zak made the decision on his own. These 2 powerful people prove how the power of sharing your story makes a big difference in the world.
